I went to the Brisbane botanical gardens today for the Japanese festival with a good friend of mine x3
Festival was baaad (barely anything going on) but we took a picnic and ended up wandering around a bit. We even went to the orchid show and bought my dad a pretty flower for his birthday.
My friend and I were the youngest people AT the orchid show xD
I'm sad to say, the gardens are still a little ruined after the floods. Broken limbs in the gardens and dead plants around everywhere.
No matter, the cactus garden and Japanese area's were still quite pretty.
Have some pictures. :3

That dome in the background has the rainforest enclosure, I was a bit sad at how.... bad... the plants looked in there. Even the pond in the middle that used to be full of fish and lillypads is full of algee and smelly.

those white things there? Fuzzy mushrooms, i have never seen those things before. They must have come up after the downpour we had yesterday.

The japanese garden, all the Coi are missing :(

Pretty bonsai~

Bonus Ekka picture, i was volunteering here in the government pavilian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ekka
