Another fic written as a challenge entry for tf_matrix again x3
decepticon attack, write about the mechs and oc's you write in the community

The first thing that suggested anything was wrong was a sudden rumble shaking the ground throughout the base. Dust dislodged by the shaking falling from the walls in clouds as the first humans and mechs moved outside to investigate.

Several minutes later all hell broke loose as explosions were set off in several key buildings throughout the complex. Debris and flames spraying outwards as both organic and Cybertronian personnel scrambled for cover. The larger mechs scooping humans into their arms as they attempted to prevent the smaller sentients from being crushed underfoot in the panic.

Slipping into the base using the diversion created for them, Decepticon front liners began snatching the panicking humans off the ground. Several managing to slip away unnoticed with their screaming, struggling cargo before the Autobots were able to organize a defense.

Screaming and scrambling for cover, Jo dived out of the way when a probing mechanical hand broke through the window of the girls apartment. Backpedaling away as fast as she was able and ducking behind the kitchenette counter, the brunette curled up and tried to make as little sound as possible. Watching the Decepticon in the reflection of the microwave as he moved onto the next room and managed to pull another screaming civilian out through the window.

Jumping when a red blur seemingly descended from the sky and literally tore the decepticon limb from limb. Carefully scooping the humans into his arms before crouching down outside of her window, the red mech chirped and scanned the interior.

"You need t' come out" Fireflight whispered, moving the broken glass out of the way and beckoning her forward "Y' need t' leave before the Decepticons come back this way."

Limping towards the window, Jo squeaked when she was suddenly scooped up much in the same manner as the other humans. Hanging over Fireflight's forearm and gripping tightly to the metal armor as if her life depended on it.

Her eyes widened as the red jet sprinted past the tarmac and she caught a glimpse of the mechs and human NEST members trying to fend off the Decepticon incursion. Fireflight suddenly shouted up towards the roof of one of the buildings, a series of rapid fire clicks and mechanical whirs in his native language before he dived into to open door of an empty hangar. A bright bolt of laser fire streaking through the air and impacting the helm of a Decepticon that had appeared in front of where Fireflight was standing only moments before.

"Bluestreak is coverin' the building" the red mech whispered, depositing the humans gently onto the floor and shooing them towards the mech sized rooms lining the walls "Go hide 'n my room. It's th' one at th' back left"

Turning around, Fireflight stood back up to his full height. Peering out the hangar door and waving an arm, signaling the doorwinged sniper hiding on a nearby roof.

"I'm gonna go find some more've you guys" he looked back over his shoulder to the frightened huddle of civilians Jo was trying to herd towards safety.

Limping after the group, cane forgotten in the panic, "Sure, just make sure y' tell us it's you when you come back." Jo called up to the jet standing in the doorway, only the slight tremble of her voice belying her fear.

Seemingly satisfied that the organics were doing as instructed, Fireflight disappeared back out the hangar door. Leaving the small group of humans to join the rest of those the jet had already stashed safely in his room.

Just a little fic-bit i wrote for [livejournal.com profile] tf_matrix
super short background = cybertronian sparks require energy from organics in order to fuel their sparks and they gain it by connecting to 'sockets' in that have been installed into the organic. xD read the communities background information, it's explained better there

Experimental log F-1R3_263
Cycle of Astral-5, 32nd vorn, 3rd joor

With sockets becoming a scarce commodity, as well as the dangers currently presented by contacting planets with compatible organics due to the decepticon uprising, new methods to extend lifespans and durability of current sockets needs to be devised.

Perhaps a method to rid us of our dependence altogether is required.

Experimental log F-1R3_265
Cycle of Astral-5, 32nd vorn, 20th joor

Theoretical methods have been devised to create non-organic sockets through spark transferal from volunteer sockets who are ready to join the matrix. Initial experiments to capture the sparks as they transfer to the allspark have been unsuccessful. New methods need to be devised.

Success ----- found----- flier model accepted the organic spark-----

Unforeseen complications------ instinct driven-------- spark stabilization required. The subject has been placed into stasis until such a time he can be safely revived.

Experimental log F-1R3_298
Cycle of Astral-5, 34th vorn, 1st joor

Successful integration of brother sparks into the subject frequency has allowed re-activation of the organic-sparked bot. Flocking instinct seems to have been satisfied by giving all members the aerial base-code.

Organic spark F-1R3 seems to have no memories of past existence, this may be for the best taking into account the news of his previous partners death. He seems to have taken quite a shining to his "older" brothers, though he tends to spend far much more time around "Air Raid" as he has been dubbed by the other four.

Head engineer on the project Wheeljack has taken it upon himself to raise the young fliers, educating the four brother mechs to full-grown standard before F-1R3 was activated. The largest of the four, now designated "Silverbolt", seems to have become un-official leader of the group and with the help of the others will soon be finished with the educational programing instructions for F-1R3.

Sidenote:
Reports of an increase in tool and parts theft have been made throughout the lab, further investigation is required.

Experimental log F-1R3_298
Cycle of Astral-5, 34th vorn, 2nd joor

Another unforeseen effect of the organic instincts has become evident within mech F-1R3. Intense interest in small, polished objects and a desire to decorate the primary recharge area with them seems to have transferred over from the previous host-species of the spark. As time moves forward, most of the heavily pronounced behavioral quirks are beginning to settle.

Sidenote:
Missing materials have been recovered.

Experimental log F-1R3_298
Cycle of Astral-5, 35th vorn, 23rd joor

Since creation, F-1R3 has not yet required spark energy from a socket whereas each of the brother mechs have needed to go through the process themselves. As was predicted by the hypothesis, the organic spark seems to be self-sustaining. Due to his emotional nature F-1R3 has been dubbed "Fireflight" or "Flighty" by his companions.

Still containing all the necessary equipment to harvest spark energy from socket symbiotes, should it ever be needed, "Fireflight" demonstrated in experiments an incredible ability to store mock-symbiotic energy for long periods of time without dissipation. Capable of passing the required charge onto another mech when needed without further stimulation.

All experiments were carried out under stasis conditions, low-grade mock-energy (not capable of sustaining mechs) administered under the close supervision of head-engineer Wheeljack and the brother mechs.

Due to the success of these experiments, the jetling has been fitted with a socket of his own should he ever wish to use it.

----- due to his usually quite gentle and sweet disposition, no one quite expected the level of sheer destruction delivered to the first decepticon troops to attack the lab. Even the small jets brothers were unsure where such a level of aggression had come from though soon discovered that it was both in their own and the DECEPTICONS best interests not to get hit by artillery when the jetling was within optical range.
