Ratchet found the whole thing alot less funny when skyfire, also acting on his jet mating protocols, promptly kidnapped both perceptor as well as the entire decepticon elite seeker trine.
It was made especially annoying due to the fact that Perceptor was currently in the middle of a rather important experiment and Prime ordered him to be "rescued" from the space shuttles quarters. Once the experiment was over, however, no-one saw helm or skidplate of the quiet scientest for a very long time.
With the elite trine currently accosted on the autobot base many were worried about attacks from the decepticons designed to retrieve their missing teammates.
Luckily Megatron was rather well informed as to what was causing the problem (having worked with the glitchy fliers for several million years) and promptly called for a ceasefire until the jet mating season was over.
