scuba update again
today i spent the whole day training in a pool.
i am EXHAUSTED.
I did enjoy the strange looks we kept getting from people who were also using the public pool. it was especially hilarious when i surfaced next to a bunch of high school kids having a swimming lesson and one of them gushed "OH MY GOD!! YOU GUYS ARE SO COOL!!"
I lolled.... hard.... into my respirator... then ended up choking on water a little...
on a similar note, no one ever tells you how HEAVY scuba gear is.
a twenty pound weight belt plus all the rest of that stuff.
i was carrying around more than 2/3 of my body weight when outside of the pool. try climbing one of those little pool ladders with that much weight strapped to your back.
my neck is killing me (runs away to find some anti-inflammatory muscle gel)

Uhh, antepathy wanted to see the doodle i did of sparky in my notebook yesterday.
he's a drone, so no spark, made from bits and pieces out of metroplex's spare drone parts. Slingshot and Scamper put him together as a present for Fireflight. He's tiny, a UAV rather than an actual helicopter, about the size of a large toy for 'Flight.
He's a bit mis-matched because most of the helicopter parts were faulty. so they made him from the parts of about 7 different build-it-yourself drones.
Origins of tiny helo-drone can be found in (yet another crack filled) conversation i had in the comments on tv_the_sues journal.
oh the crack that can be found there :3

damn you peoples, stop feeding the head muse smut flavoured energon (stares at death_hendry... or tv... im not sure which one of you did it this time 0_o)

My friend started learning last year with her hubby, they did it for their honeymoon so they could go diving while in Mexico they haven't looked back since. They love it, they keep trying to get me to strengthen my swimming so I can join them. I am not that strong a swimmer.

Scuba diver on land = not so much cool, lol. Even snorklers - there's just no way to walk gracefully in flippers. You either have to pick up your knees really high or walk backwards ^^
