I left home for about 15 minutes to drop my car off at the mechanics across the street.
When I got home the door was pulled backwards far enough to bend the hinges but luckily it held.

Someone tried to break in while I was gone....

I had to bend it back into place with a little 'manual persuasion'. Luckily i was only gone a few minutes.

I've been ACTUALLY burgled before, they were still inside when i got home and i heard them run out the side door.

Glad they didn't get too far {{{HUGS}}} That's always so unsettling - I woke up one morning to find someone had pried up the steel cover to the dog door in the kitchen during the night, and apparently both doggies (who bark at cats, tree branches squeaking, neighbors starting their motorcycles three blocks down, bugs, etc.) slept through the whole thing.

Once upon a time, a LARP-pal of mine was in his flat with his gal - Saturday night-movie time! Som hours into the night a fool opened their door, thinking he could bully his way into my pal's home, threatening him with a knife.

Now, Daniel is a pro. knight. He gets PAID for kicking ass with swords, maces, Morningstars, javelins, etc. He trains withe these weapons and many more, for hours a day. So did his girlfriend, at that time.

This idiot was met with a the tip av a lance (pretty thing - 40 cm long, sharp blade) held by Daniel. His girl came through the other door and knocked his tiiiny knife away with her shield and also made sure of holding an axe against his groin, just in case he felt lucky.

The fool pissed himself down, but they didn't let him leave until the cops were at their place. And, the officers couldn't stop laughing, I tell you.

NEVER mess with LARPERs. I guess same goes with fencers?

So. You go and get your weapon of choice and stand guard. I expect you to kick ass. Run them through just a little for me, as well.

Scarrry, I am glad you are alright and they didn't get all the way in though. Like somebody up the comment section mentioned, the timing sounds like they had been watching. So, keep your guard up, and watch out, they may give you a few days or a week before they try again. That is what happened when my neighbors were remodeling. Tried, got stopped by an arriving workman, waited a week, and tried again, only to get stopped by a 12 gauge-wielding, pissed off grandma.
