this is my grumpy face

so, i just spent the last 5 hours baby sitting two kids at their house
lets just say i'll probably have a few more bruises tomorrow

right, grumpy face
i wasnt scheduled for a shift at work tomorrow. due to the fact that one of my best friends (who i havent seen since before christmas) works during the week, i decided to go ahead and make plans to go out with them tomorrow.

of course, i tell my parents this but, apparently, they weren't listening all that well.

Work called home while i was baby sitting and asked if i could work my usual shift tomorrow, my parents immediately say "yes" without asking me and force me to change my plans.

see, i probably would have said yes myself but i prefer it if people actually ask me if im doing anything before planing stuff involving me.

i get into the car when my dad comes and picks me up, say thankyou for getting me the shift, then ask politely if he could ask me before saying yes next time because he had forgotten about me telling him i had plans.

this ends up with him screaming at me for 10 minutes then not talking to me for the rest of the ride home.

honestly, i think i was the only one in the car entitled to screaming. mainly because i had just spent 5 hours looking after 2 kids who thought it was funny to hit me WHILE i was in pain due to crappy-female-hormonal stuff (and me forgetting to take ibuprofen with me) AND the fact that i had to go and cancel plans with someone i really wanted to go see (who i will probably not be able to go see till the NEXT time i dont have a saturday shift).

all i wanted him to do is ask me before saying yes next time. :(

Parents, alas, always treat you like you're about 15 years old. Sigh.

You were perfectly reasonable in expecting that they check with YOU about YOUR time. Yes, the extra shift probably means extra money which is always nice in a way, but...some things in life are a bit more important than a bit of extra cash--like having some kind of social contact!

*hug* Starscream will grope you until you feel better.

Yeah, being asked first is a very reasonable request. Sorry you won't get to see your friend *hugs*

And babysitting hitting kids for five hours - yikes! Rough day was rough! *more hugs* (can you charge extra babysitting fees per bruise?)
